October Stats are in! In Collin, Dallas, Denton, Tarrant and Rockwall Counties, new Listings, active listing counts, days on market, average sales prices are up a few percentage points from last year. Closed sales across the counties, with the exception of Collin County with 1122 sales in October are down a few percentage points from 2022. Good news for Buyers who have more choices as we move into the winter! Also please note that we have included condominium statistics for all counties. Happy Thanksgiving from all your friends at Republic Title!

Vicki Summerall Named CREW Network Foundation Board Chair

Congratulations to Vicki Summerall, Senior Vice President/Business Development, for being named the 2024 @CREW Network Foundation Board Chair.

Four commercial real estate leaders have been appointed to the 2024 CREW Network Foundation board of directors, which will be led by Vicki Summerall, Senior Vice President, Business Development, at Republic Title of Texas, Inc.

“CREW Network Foundation is impacting the commercial real estate industry by funding college scholarships, career outreach programs, and important industry research that advances women,” Summerall said. “It also directly impacts women by advancing careers and changing lives. The Foundation’s success and reach continues to grow year after year, and I am honored to guide our continued success in 2024.”

At Republic Title, Summerall’s key responsibilities include developing new and managing existing relationships with Commercial Legal clients as well as National Commercial Services offices nationwide. She also enjoys expanding Republic Title’s Commercial Real Estate Training and education courses including but not limited to MCE and CLE courses for brokers and real estate attorneys. She is a member of the CREW Dallas chapter, a CREW Visionary, and has served on the CREW Dallas and CREW Network global board of directors.

Proposition 4 – Property Tax Relief for Homeowners

The largest property tax cut in Texas history was passed on November 7, 2023. Here are the key points of the bill and what you need to know. 

  • HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION TO INCREASE FROM $40,000 TO $100,000 
  • UP TO AN ADDITIONAL $15,000 EXEMPTION FOR CERTAIN ELDERLY AND DISABLED HOMEOWNERS FOR THE 2023 PROPERTY TAX YEAR 
  • APPRAISAL REVIEW BOARD IN COUNTIES WITH A POPULATION GREATER THAN 75,000

  • A CAP ON ANNUAL APPRAISED VALUE INCREASES FOR CERTAIN NON-HOMESTEAD PROPERTIES
